The Pet Connect Team invite you to The Together Centre on the 1st March, 1-3pm, for an event to spread awareness of the project. There will be cake, brews and animals to greet you at our informal gathering in the main hall. There will also be a raffle with prizes including handcrafted artwork from our shop and printed Noah’s A.R.T. badges.
Pet Connect is the latest project from Noah’s A.R.T. and provides an animal assisted befriending service to the people of Tameside. It involves our volunteer humans and their volunteer pet dogs, which we call ‘Pet Buddy Teams’, going to visit lonely and isolated individuals in their homes. This could just be for a chat, going out for a walk or even coming to visit our ‘Pop Inn’ café on a Tuesday at our base. The overall aim is to reduce social isolation in Tameside with the help of our furry friends.
This event will provide information for volunteering opportunities within ‘Pet Connect’ and for potential participants. If you are a health or social care professional come and find out how to refer. If you like the idea of ‘Pet Connect’ come down and find out more from the team. We look forward to seeing you!
