Rachel joined us in May 2018 as part of the Paws & Paints Pop Inn project funded by Awards for All - Big Lottery. She had been referred into the project by her care coordinator. Recovering from a serious mental health issue, she has worked hard to overcome a difficult and traumatic past.
Despite facing challenges, she has worked tirelessly as our art coordinator. Her creative flair has been behind our many colourful and imaginative art displays. But her talent extends beyond her creativity. She is a kind, warm hearted person who manages to make people feel safe to express themselves through art.
Rachel states Noah's ART has helped with her confidence to achieve her goal of helping people with mental health issues and learning disabilities through art therapy. She feels volunteering at Noah's ART has helped her to look forward more to the future.
Her CBT therapist notes her volunteering with the service has helped her immensely and that she is "flourishing". It has given her a "role" that she values. She has found purpose and with that confidence.
